SnapNumbers Privacy Policy

Last updated: 25 October 2026 (players remembered per TV, notifications)

SnapNumbers is a family maths game: the TV shows a sum and players race to type the answer on their phones. We collect only what the game needs to work, we don't show ads, and we never sell or share your information.

This policy covers the SnapNumbers app for Android TV, the game screens at snapnumbers.marksmart.in that phones open to play, and the SnapNumbers game server. "We" and "us" means the SnapNumbers developer. Questions: kmamit71ami@gmail.com.

1. What we collect and why

InformationWhere it comes fromWhy we use it
TV device ID: the Android device ID of the TV, or a random ID created in the browser if the game is opened on a computerThe SnapNumbers TV appTo count free games and remember subscriptions for that TV
Free games and subscription status: games used and when, the plan (monthly or yearly), the Google Play purchase token, when it ends, or the redeem code usedThe TV app and Google PlayTo decide whether the TV can start another game
TV details: TV model, Android version and time zoneThe TV appTo fix problems on particular TVs and to see which countries play
Player name: the first name or nickname typed to joinThe player's phoneTo show who is playing and the scores, and to remember who has played on each TV (see below)
Players on each TV: for every phone that joined a game on a TV, its random ID, the name it used, how it joined, when it first and last played, how many games it played, and whether it hostedThe gameTo let a TV's past players know when a new game starts on it (only if they turned notifications on), and to show the TV's owner who plays
Notification address: if you tap "Turn on" for notifications, the push address your browser gives usThe phone's browserTo send SnapNumbers notifications: a "new game" notice when a game starts on a TV whose last game you played in, a reminder to the host at the same time the day after a game, and occasional news; and to count whether a notification was tapped and led to a game
Phone details: a random ID saved on the phone, the type of phone (Android or iPhone), how the player joined (QR code, link or typed code) and time zoneThe game page on the phoneTo count how many different people play, without knowing who they are
Game activity: words played, game settings, whether answers were right, and how long they tookThe gameTo run the game, show scores and leaderboards, and improve the word list
IP addressEvery connectionTo connect your device and to block people guessing room or redeem codes

The random phone and TV IDs don't tell us who you are. Game statistics are stored against these IDs, never against a player's name.

Notifications

Notifications are off until you tap "Turn on" on the game page and allow them in your browser. You can turn them off at any time with "Turn off" on the game page or in your browser's settings. We send a notice when a game starts on a TV whose last game you played in, and, if you hosted, one reminder at the same time the next day. Notifications are sent through your browser's own push service (for example Google's for Chrome, Apple's for Safari), which receives only the message.

2. What we don't collect

3. How long we keep it

4. Payments

Subscriptions are bought and managed through Google Play, under Google's privacy policy. Google tells our server only which plan the TV has, its purchase token, and whether it is still active. You can cancel at any time in the Google Play Store.

5. Sharing

We don't sell, rent or share your information with anyone for advertising or marketing. We use one service provider: Amazon Web Services, which hosts the game server in Mumbai, India. If you turn notifications on, your browser's push service (Google, Apple or Mozilla) delivers them. Information is sent over encrypted connections (https). We may share information only if the law requires it.

6. Children

SnapNumbers is made for families, including children under 13, and follows Google Play's Families policy. Players type only a first name or nickname; we suggest a nickname for children. There are no ads, no chat between players and no accounts. We don't knowingly collect any other personal information from children. A parent or guardian can ask us to delete their child's or family's information at any time (see below).

7. Your choices and rights

8. Security

All connections use https. The server is reachable only through its secure web address, and its owner dashboard needs a password. No method is perfectly secure, but we keep what we hold to a minimum.

9. Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we'll update this page and the "Last updated" date. If a change affects what we collect, we'll say so in the app's release notes on Google Play.
